Throughout the history of the United States, music and musicians have played a pivotal role in spreading American ideals abroad while also bringing people together at home—all through the power of music. From Van Cliburn winning the Tchaikovsky Competition at the height of the Cold War to Marian Anderson singing from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, American music and musicians have changed the world for the better. This concert brings together recreations of some of these iconic moments while also showcasing great works of American music, brought to life by the musicians of SOTA, world-class guest artists, and local choral singers in a shared celebration of the power of music to unite us.
