Stewart Copeland is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame–inducted musician best known as the founder and drummer of The Police, one of the most influential bands in music history. Formed in 1977 with Sting and Andy Summers, the group sold over 75 million records, earned multiple Grammy and BRIT Awards, and produced global hits including Every Breath You Take and Message in a Bottle. After the band disbanded at the height of its fame, Copeland launched an acclaimed second career as a film and television composer, beginning with the Grammy-winning score for Francis Ford Coppola’s Rumble Fish. He has since composed across film, opera, ballet, chamber, and world music, remaining at the forefront of contemporary composition for decades. Copeland is also a filmmaker, author of two autobiographical books, and the creator of Police Deranged for Orchestra, an orchestral reimagining of The Police’s catalog. In a fascinating "Evening With", he will talk about his incredible life as a performer, musician, entertainer, and writer.
