Not every family is what it seems. Slow Burn Theatre Company tears back the curtain this June with one of Broadway’s most fearless musicals, Alanis Morissette’s “Jagged Little Pill,” the two-time Tony® Award-winning production running Saturday, June 13 through Sunday, June 28, 2026, in the Amaturo Theatre at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Part of MD Now® Slow Burn Theatre Company’s 2025/2026 season presented by United Community Bank, with additional support from the Broward Cultural Division, this production is not to be missed.

Jagged Little Pill is an exhilarating new musical inspired by the themes and raw emotions laid bare in Alanis Morissette’s seminal album of the same name. The Healys appear to be a picture-perfect suburban family but looks can be deceiving. When the cracks beneath the surface begin to show, they must choose between maintaining the status quo or facing harsh truths about themselves, their community, and the world around them. Set to an explosive score of Morissette’s most iconic songs, including “Ironic,” “You Oughta Know,” “Hand in My Pocket,” and “All I Really Want,”  this bold, deeply human story reminds us what it truly means to heal.

Winner of two Tony Awards, two Drama Desk Awards, eight Outer Critics Circle Awards, and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, Jagged Little Pill features lyrics by Alanis Morissette, music by Alanis Morissette and Glen Ballard, and a book by Oscar®-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody.

Jagged Little Pill is a story about what happens when the image of perfection starts to crack, and the courage it takes to face what’s underneath. Alanis Morissette’s music gives voice to that tension in a way that is raw, honest, and deeply human. It’s exactly the kind of fearless storytelling we want to bring to our stage,” says Patrick Fitzwater, Slow Burn Theatre Company Co-Founder and Director.

Starring Kimberly Doreen Burns* as Mary Jane Healy, Lauren Chanel* as Frankie Healy, Isaac Kueber* as Nick Healy, Ben Sandomir* as Steve Healy, and Emily van Vleit Perea* as Bella. Also featuring Sydney Freihofer as Jo, Manny Tijerina as Phoenix, and Mason Materdomini as Andrew. The ensemble includes Abbey Alder, Daniella Coby, Madeline Dunn, Eli Flynn, Cat Pagano (Dance Captain), Jack Pawloski, Mikayla Queeley, Natasha Ricketts, Immanuel Rodriguez, Ashley Valent, and Corey Vega, who together bring the Healy family’s world and Morissette’s music to vivid, unforgettable life.

Under the direction of Slow Burn Theatre Company Co-Founder Patrick Fitzwater, the production features music direction by Gio Tio, choreography by Madeline Dunn, scenic design by Nikolas Serrano, lighting design by Clifford Spurlock, and costume design by Rick Peña, with technical direction by Timothy Dickey and stage management by Production Stage Manager Wilhelm Peters* and Assistant Stage Manager Jolie Rubinchik*.
