Don't be afraid to try new things and take every opportunity you can to add new and different skills to your resume.This class helps build the performance foundation as students learn and review the fundamentals of acting. Use theater games and interactive exercises to develop skills in improvisation, character development and analysis, text analysis (objectives, beats, tactics, etc.), observation, listening and making strong creative choices. Take these newly acquired skills and then apply them to your everyday life!

ADULT ACTING-MONOLOGUE BUILDING

This class meets in person at the Broward Center weekly in accordance with CDC and state and local health & safety guidelines. Capacity is strictly limited.

This is the time to build: build on your skills, update your repertoire, prepare for after “the pause” and hey, have some fun while doing it. A strong, multi-layered character is crucial in the actor’s work and specificity is key. This class focuses on play analysis, the steps needed for clear and complex character development, and the integration of the breath, body and intellect. Reading of handouts and working on your text outside of class is required.

This class is aimed at anyone who wants to be a better communicator. Students identify the important improv tools needed in their unique “toolbox” to enhance communication skills. Improve public speaking and interview skills and develop your presentation and communication style through elements such as writing, acting, joke telling, improv and musical improv. Have fun, grow your improv skills and push your creative boundaries. All levels welcome.

ADULT SKETCH COMEDY WRITING

TUESDAYS 7:30 - 9:00 PM | $235

This class meets weekly on Zoom and has been specially designed to provide you the best possible virtual experience.


Learn how to create written comedy sketches in the style of Saturday Night Live and Whose Line Is It Anyway? This class uses the tools of improvisation to hone comedy skills and generate ideas for original sketches. Students are guided through the writing process from idea generation to performance, maximizing creativity through weekly writing assignments, independent work and weekly class interactions. Showcase your sense of humor while exploring your originality and imagination in this new and unique class.

ADULT BROADWAY DANCE

Designed for adults who just want to DANCE! Broadway dance is the focus of this high energy class. Taught by award-winning director/choreographer Ron Hutchins, Broadway Dance is the perfect class to help you stay fit while learning basic steps and explosive choreography from some of Broadway’s greatest shows. Spread the word, bring a friend and take advantage of this opportunity to embrace your inner dancer. No prior experience required. All dance levels welcome.

ADULT SING-ALONG

THURSDAYS 6:30 - 7:30 PM | $210

This class meets weekly on Zoom and has been specially designed to provide you the best possible virtual experience.


Come have fun and sing along! This virtual class is designed for adults who enjoy singing Broadway show tunes and wish to improve vocal technique. Musical theater songs teach proper vocal production, breath control and how to act out a song. No previous singing experience is necessary as students learn group numbers in a supportive environment.

ADULT CABARET

THURSDAYS 7:45 - 9:15 PM | $235

This class meets weekly on Zoom and has been specially designed to provide you the best possible virtual experience. This class culminates with a livestream cabaret performance for family and friends.

 
Life is a cabaret! Expand your singing and performing techniques in this cabaret class for adult singers. Continue to develop proper breath control, tone production and vocal expression by acting out a song in a safe and professional environment. Classes open with technique exercises and continue with the opportunity for students to present a solo performance for more individual feedback.
