Shelly Bradshaw to Retire After 30 Years at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts

The Broward Center for the Performing Arts has announced the retirement of Shelly Bradshaw, Vice President of Operations, after 30 years with the organization. Bradshaw will continue in a consulting capacity through August 2025.
“Over three decades, Shelly helped guide the organization through periods of change, expansion and improvement,” said Ty Sutton, President/CEO of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. “We appreciate the true commitment and dedication she brought to the role. Her contributions helped position the Broward Center and The Parker among the top venues in the country.”
During her tenure, Bradshaw oversaw operations, production, and facilities management for the Broward Center and its affiliated venues.
Key projects under her direction include:
- Renovation and Rebranding of The Parker: Led the $30 million transformation of Fort Lauderdale’s Parker Playhouse into The Parker, reopening in 2021 as a modern performance venue.
- Operational Oversight: Managed operations for the Center as well as multiple affiliated venues including The Parker, Miramar Cultural Center/ArtsPark, Aventura Arts & Cultural Center and the Miniaci Performing Arts Center at Nova Southeastern University.

Pandemic Response: Directed the reopening strategy following the COVID-19 shutdown, including implementation of health and safety measures.
Reflecting on her career, Bradshaw said: “It’s been an honor to contribute to the growth of this organization and the region’s dynamic cultural community, helping to position the Broward Center as a cultural cornerstone and an economic driver for South Florida. It has been my privilege to work alongside incredibly talented people and contribute to many enduring partnerships, and I look forward to supporting a smooth transition in the months ahead.”
Recognized for her commitment to community building, Bradshaw held leadership positions in various civic and professional organizations including Leadership Broward Foundation, ArtServe and HANDY, and participated in the Fort Lauderdale Downtown Transportation and Mobility Association. She is a graduate of Leadership Broward Class XXVIII and Leadership Florida Cornerstone Class 40 and has been active in national industry groups such as the International Association of Venue Managers and the Florida Professional Presenters Consortium.
“As I step into the next chapter, I will always be proud of the work we’ve accomplished together to fulfill the Broward Center’s mission and optimistic about all that lies ahead for the team,” Bradshaw said.
