FEBRUARY BRINGS BROADWAY, BIG NAMES AND A NEW KIND OF NIGHT OUT TO THE BROWARD CENTER

As the Broward Center for the Performing Arts marks 35 years of bringing live performance to South Florida, February delivers a dynamic month of artistry across its stages. The lineup spans Broadway in Fort Lauderdale, major touring productions, concerts, comedy, family programming and immersive experiences, offering guests a wide range of performances throughout the month.
The month is anchored by a major Broadway run at the Au-Rene Theater as the Broward Center continues its 2025/2026 Bank of America Broadway in Fort Lauderdale season with Broadway’s Back to the Future: The Musical. Additional highlights include Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in Concert, along with performances by Tom Papa, Matthew Morrison and Karla Bonoff, rounding out a lineup that blends large-scale productions with intimate live performances.
For audiences looking for something different, BATSU! makes its South Florida debut as part of the Broward Off Center series. The interactive comedy experience invites audience participation, with select guests joining the action on stage.
Beyond the theater, the Broward Center also brings live music outdoors with Rhythm by the River 2026: A Celebration of Local Voices, an annual event presented as part of the Amplify Arts initiative, taking place Sunday, February 22 at 2 p.m. at Esplanade Park. Featuring a lineup of local artists, the event includes food, drinks and activities, creating a community gathering centered on live music.

The Pout-Pout Fish
Sensory Inclusive Performance: Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 10:30 a.m.
Standard Performance: Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.
The Pout-Pout Fish comes to the Broward Center as part of the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Imagination Series, turning the poutiest of frowns upside down in a musical adventure featuring whimsical puppets and live performers. When Mr. Fish sets out to help Miss Clam recover her missing pearl, his journey becomes one of friendship, confidence and self-acceptance.
Based on the New York Times bestselling book, this colorful stage adaptation is co-conceived, directed and designed by the acclaimed puppeteers of Acheson Walsh Studios, whose work has appeared on Broadway in The King and I, On the Town and Radio City’s New York Spectacular.
Lap tickets are available for children 12 months and under at the Broward Center’s AutoNation Box Office. All guests entering the theater must have a ticket.
Sensory-Inclusive Performance
Presented as part of the Broward Center’s Sensory-Inclusive season, this performance of The Pout-Pout Fish is designed to create a welcoming and supportive environment for children and adults on the autism spectrum, as well as individuals with other sensory sensitivities or developmental disabilities. Adjustments to the production include reduced sound levels, no flashing or strobe lights and minimal special effects.
An ABA Centers of Florida Sensory Quiet Room, staffed by trained therapists, will be available adjacent to the theater to provide additional audience support.

Broadway in Fort Lauderdale: Back to the Future: The Musical

The Broward Center continues its 2025/2026 Bank of America Broadway in Fort Lauderdale season with Back to the Future: The Musical, running February 3–15. Winner of the 2022 Olivier Award for Best New Musical, the stage adaptation brings the iconic film to Broadway with a book by Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis, direction by Tony Award winner John Rando and original music by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard, alongside hit songs from the film including “The Power of Love,” “Johnny B. Goode,” “Earth Angel” and “Back in Time.”
Children under 4 will not be admitted. Advisory: This production includes flashing lights, strobe effects, smoke and haze and pyrotechnics throughout. Running time is approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes, including one intermission.
Karla Bonoff

Karla Bonoff, appearing as part of the Broward Center’s Baptist Health Red Carpet Series, is widely regarded as one of the finest singer-songwriters of her generation, earning critical acclaim and enduring respect for a body of work that has resonated for decades. Her songs have become classics, recorded by artists including Bonnie Raitt, Wynonna Judd and Linda Ronstadt.
Bonoff was featured in the acclaimed documentary Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice, which highlights both her longtime friendship with Ronstadt and her role as the writer of several of Ronstadt’s most iconic songs. She continues to tour extensively, sharing her rich catalog through performances that showcase her expressive vocals and emotionally resonant songwriting.
Matthew Morrison: Rhythms & Revelations

Matthew Morrison returns as part of the Broward Center’s Baptist Health Red Carpet Series, bringing Rhythms & Revelations to the stage for an evening that blends music and personal storytelling. Best known for his role as Will Schuester on Glee, Morrison draws on his roots in musical theater to deliver a performance that showcases both his vocal range and expressive presence.
BATSU!: Comedic Game Show-Style Challenge

BATSU! brings a wildly popular Japanese comedy tradition to South Florida as part of the Broward OFF Center series, delivering what is truly not your average night out. In this high-energy, game show-style experience, four comedians compete in unpredictable challenges with the goal of avoiding outrageous punishments that can include electric shocks, paintballs and other jaw-dropping consequences.
Audience participation is central to the experience, with select volunteers invited on stage to join the action after signing a waiver. Fast-paced and immersive, BATSU! blends Japanese comedy traditions with American improv, creating an interactive performance where the line between audience and performers disappears.
MD Now® Slow Burn Theatre Co. presents Beautiful: The Carole King Musical

Slow Burn Theatre Company brings the inspiring story of Carole King’s journey from teenage songwriter to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legend to the stage. This Tony® and Grammy® Award-winning musical celebrates the songs that shaped a generation, from chart-topping hits written for music’s biggest acts to King’s own breakthrough with Tapestry.
Featuring favorites like “You’ve Got a Friend,” “So Far Away,” “Will You Love Me Tomorrow,” “Up on the Roof” and “Natural Woman,” Beautiful takes audiences back to where it all began.
MD NOW ® Urgent Care Slow Burn Theatre Company’s production of Beautiful – The Carole King Musical is presented by United Community with additional support from Funding Arts Broward. Major support of Slow Burn Theatre Company is provided by the Broward County Cultural Division, the Cultural Council, and the Broward County Board of County Commissioners and Visit Lauderdale.
Tom Papa: Grateful Bread Tour

Tom Papa brings his Grateful Bread Tour to the Broward Center as part of the Truist Comedy Series. With more than two decades as a stand-up comedian, Papa is known for his warm, observational humor and ability to find comedy in everyday life, family and modern absurdities.
Papa stars in multiple stand-up specials, including Netflix’s Tom Papa: Home Free, released in 2024. He is also the author of We’re All In This Together… So Make Some Room and the host of the popular podcast Breaking Bread with Tom Papa, where thoughtful conversations unfold over food and laughter.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban™ in Concert

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban™ in Concert comes to the Broward Center as part of the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Imagination Series, presented by the Broward Center and Innovation. First a bestselling novel and then a blockbuster film, this special concert event brings the third chapter of the Harry Potter series to life on the big screen, accompanied by a live symphony orchestra performing the film’s score.
Audiences will relive Harry’s third year at Hogwarts as he encounters Dementors™, boards the Knight Bus™ and uncovers the truth about Sirius Black™, all while experiencing the music performed live in sync with the film.
Rhythm by the River 2026: A Celebration of Local Voices

South Florida artists take the stage for Rhythm by the River 2026, a free outdoor concert at Esplanade Park in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Presented by Baptist Health and JM Family Enterprises, Inc., with additional support from Funding Arts Broward and TD Charitable Foundation, the event celebrates the depth and diversity of the local music scene.
Headlined by Inner Circle, best known for the global hit “Bad Boys” and a catalog of reggae classics, the lineup also includes the soulful sounds of The Ladies of Simone, the rock and Motown energy of The Swayzees and the jazz, Latin and funk stylings of Luigi Arredondo Sextet.
The afternoon also features free arts and crafts and interactive games in the Baptist Health Activity Zone, food trucks and free community workshops in the Broward Center’s Mary N. Porter Riverview Ballroom. Rhythm by the River is part of the Broward Center’s Amplify Arts initiative, which supports and elevates local artists and emerging arts organizations.

Art Prevails Project: Of House and Home

Art Prevails returns with Of House and Home, a festival of bold new short plays written by South Florida playwrights. This curated program features staged readings that are by turns funny, heartfelt or both, offering audiences an intimate look at fresh voices and new work rooted in home, identity and connection.
Presented as part of the Broward Center’s Amplify Arts Series, Of House and Home highlights the region’s creative talent while providing a platform for artists to share work in development with a live audience. Amplify Arts is a Broward Center initiative designed to support and elevate local artists and emerging arts organizations by expanding access to professional stages and wider audiences. ARRIVAL from Sweden – The Music of ABBA

Appearing as part of the Broward Center’s Cleveland Clinic Rock Series and generously underwritten by Christine and M. Austin Forman, ARRIVAL from Sweden – The Music of ABBA brings the iconic sound of ABBA to the stage in an internationally acclaimed live concert experience. With more than 30 years of global touring, the 10–12-piece ensemble performs fan favorites including “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia” and “Waterloo,” delivered with faithful arrangements and signature costumes.
For this special performance, ARRIVAL from Sweden is joined by the South Florida Symphony Orchestra, adding a local dimension and symphonic scale to ABBA’s beloved catalog.
“Attack on Titan” – Beyond the Walls Tour: The Official Concert

Experience the world of Attack on Titan live in an immersive concert featuring the iconic music of the globally acclaimed anime series. Performed by world-class rock musicians and a full symphonic orchestra, the program showcases the powerful score by Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto, paired with synchronized scenes from the anime.
Featuring fan-favorite tracks including “Attack on Titan,” “Counterattack Mankind,” “Apple Seed” and “Footsteps of Doom,” this official concert brings the intensity and emotion of the series to the stage for one unforgettable night. This event contains adult language or content.
