Jewish Humor: Part I - You Don’t Have To Be Jewish To Love This Humor!
Stephen Z. Cohen

What makes a joke Jewish? How does one recognize a Jewish joke in sheep’s clothing? And why are we laughing? The answers, as well as many other insights, will be revealed as the collective Jewish experience is explored and reflected in classical Jewish jokes and stories. Travel with Stephen Z. Cohen across a timeline of Jewish life from old country shtetls through immigration and to assimilation in the ‘golden medina’ of America, into a far deeper understanding than the typical stand-up comedy routine. This program’s not just funny… it’s smarter than that! Gain a better understanding of why Jewish humor is such an integral part of the Jewish culture - a culture one need not be Jewish to appreciate. Everyone is welcome and rest assured, he’ll be certain you ‘get’ the joke, share the laughter and reminisce. Bring a hankie…the nostalgia may induce a few tears.

Dr. Stephen Z. Cohen is an author, educator, entertainer, humorist and lecturer. In his second career as an acclaimed Jewish humorist, he seeks to preserve Jewish humor as an important part of Jewish heritage and tradition. Presenting at prestigious venues across the country, he’s regaled audiences with his unique performances.
