The Association of the Performing Arts of India presents the renowned Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, considered unparalleled for his mastery of the bansuri (bamboo flute).
He has performed at many prestigious venues and has collaborated with some of the world's greatest musicians such as John McLaughlin, Jethro Tull, George Harrison, Mickey Hart, Jan Garbarek, Egberto Gismonti, Larry Coryell and others. Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia will be accompanied on Tabla by Pt. Anindo Chatterjee and on Tanpura by Mrs. Mohini Athavale. See YouTube video
Immediately after the concert there will be a fundraising dinner held in the Abdo New River Room. At this event all in attendance will have the rare opportunity to meet Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia. 70% of the proceeds will be given to the Association of the Performing Arts of India in support of its Educational and Community Outreach programs and its overall ability to continue its programming excellence. Tickets are $75 each.
